Course Work Overview

Bed and Breakfasts make an interesting alternative to Hotels.  In most cases they have a higher standard and are more pleasant then hotels for lower cost.  Guests are attracted to a Bed and Breakfast (B&B) because they like to be spoiled, have someone else look after them and clean up after them.  In some cases they like someone to cook for them as well but with a late booking out time in most B&B's today the guests are quite happy to cook their own breakfast.

Most B&B's have something special to offer which makes them unique.  It could be a beautiful garden setting, some old world historic setting or a view of the see the mountains or the city lights.  This is also the reason why B&B guests hardly ever return to the same venue.  They like to experience something new each time and investigate the next B&B's special character.

B&B's also include farm stays which are most popular with families, country cottages, guest houses, retreats and apartments.  The in-house style B&B used to be the standard a few years ago but today most guests prefer to be in a self-contained venue. A self-contained B&B is more costly to set up but will allow to be priced higher.

There are over 8000 B&B's in Australia
